Full payment is required at the time of the written confirmed booking with positive proof of identity - showing current address.
Late payment fines for group bookings will be charged (dependent on administration charges involved) if cleared full payment is not received 28 days prior to the event date.
If additional costumes or superior options are needed at a later date after booking, full payment should be paid straight away but with prior management permission the owing fees can be deducted from the deposit.
All cheques and credit cards are to be in the name of the hirer and all cheques must be supported by a valid guarantee card and drawn on the account of the hirer.
Children under the age of 18 may not hire costumes without their parents’ consent.
The hire period is from the date and time of collection until 4.45 pm on the return date shown on the hire contract.
Extended hire is available, by prior arrangement with the management, at a standard cost of £10.00 per day in addition to the initial hire fee.
Once costumes have left our possession they are the hirer’s responsibility/risk until Crusader receives them back.
Deposits and hire fees are not refundable on cancellation or non-collection. (At the managements discretion this term may be waived in extreme circumstances.) Upon cancellation of a booked hire where an alternative garment is required, if alterations have been made to a costume then an adjustment fee of £5.00 is payable.
An item is deemed late if it is returned after 4.45pm on the day noted on the hire contract / booking form.
Late returns will be charged at the penalty rate of £20.00 per day per item for each day, or part thereof, item(s) are retained after the agreed hire date and so long as no further hires are lost due to the late return. In the event of Crusader losing a hire due to the late return a further full hire cost will be charged in addition to the penalty rate.
A deposit is required, in addition to the hire fee, to cover costs in the event of loss or damage to hired items. We prefer this to be by way of credit/debit card authority in which case the money will not be taken unless the item is returned damaged or lost. Signing and accepting Crusader’s terms and conditions and providing your credit card details to us for the purpose of security deposit authorises Crusader to debit that account in the event of loss or damage.
We can also accept cheques supported by valid guarantee cards, or cash. All cheques and credit cards are to be in the name of the hirer and all cheques must be supported by a valid guarantee card and drawn on the account of the hirer. In the case of the deposit being paid by cheque or cash, the money will be deposited securely and will be refunded in full once the return of the hired goods are checked for damage and within the agreed period.
The deposit does not cover the full replacement cost of the costume. We reserve the right to charge up to the full replacement cost of any item plus an administrative fee of £5.00.
Deposits must be paid prior to the hire goods leaving the shop.
Fitness For Purpose
Crusader Ltd makes no representation as to the size, physical fit or historical or other accuracy of any item or accessory supplied on hire. The contract is purely in regard of the supply of the specified items for the agreed period. The customer must satisfy him/herself prior to the hiring as to the fitness or otherwise of any item for their intended purpose. Acceptance of the item(s) at the commencement of the hire period implies that the item is complete and undamaged unless any faults or defects are notified to Crusader staff prior to the customer leaving the premises.
Loss or damage not notified to us until the end of the hire period will be considered as having occurred within the hire period and the deposit in whole/or part will be forfeit.
Crusader reserve the right to supply a suitable alternative in the event of loss or damage to the reserved costume occurring between the booking being made and the hire date. We will however notify to this effect as soon as possible.
No variations to these terms or conditions will be considered effective unless agreed in writing by a Director of Crusader Ltd.
Statutory Rights and Resolution. It is not our intention to infringe the statutory rights of any of our customers at any time. In the event of conflict between our terms and conditions and English Law, then English Law will take precedence.

Postage & Packaging
We will ship goods Worldwide.
We always use new packaging materials and take every precaution to prevent damage in shipment, however we cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss in transit unless you have paid the optional insurance charge.
Customer Service & Return policy
We accept returns by prior arrangement, of faulty goods, or goods not as described, but they must be sent unused and in the original packaging. We will issue a refund of the item purchase price only.
Distance Selling Regulations
Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 the Customer has the right to cancel the order provided notice of cancellation is given to Crusader Costume Hire within 7 working days and the Customer acts in accordance with these terms and conditions, provided that Crusader Costume Hire has not commenced providing the services to be supplied under this Agreement, in which event this right shall lapse. Cancellation must be notified in writing and is only effective when Crusader Costume Hire confirm it to the Customer in writing. The Customer does not need to state the reason for cancellation nor will there be any penalty payable. Once Crusader Costume Hire have accepted the Customer's cancellation, any payment received will be refunded within 30 days.
We endeavour to display correct pricing and description at all times. However in the event of an error Crusader Limited reserves the right to refuse the sale of mis-described or mis-priced products.
For customers within the UK and EEC, Crusader Ltd will provide a VAT invoice if required. No extra charges will be made to cover the VAT due.
Goods are normally shipped within 24 hours of our receiving cleared funds in our bank.
Potential Consequential Loss
The vast majority of orders are delivered on time and without difficulty. Unfortunately errors can occur, particularly with delivery agents, and we will always do our best to rectify any problems. Unfortunately, we cannot take any responsibility for the carrier or the consequences of late arrival, non-arrival or any other problems with your order. We will always try to obtain a proof of shipment and will assist the buyer in any claim on the carrier.If you cannot accept this, please call us and we will cancel your order and give an immediate refund.

All information gathered including any information given at the time of ordering is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
